Gangsta cRap Music

I know I'm getting old when I actually write a blog against gangsta cRap music. I guess as a kid I used to love gangsta cRap music. I never really knew or could grasp what was being said, but I knew I had to have it. Gangsta cRap music is like a cancer that plagues our communities and youth. I can remember the first time I went and purchased my first gangsta cRap music cd and played it. I thought I was cool. I no idea the impact it had on me. To gangsta cRap about violence and drugs was something I could never relate to as a person, but I brought it anyway. I never once questioned what I was listening to because as I said before I thought it was cool. I guess just recently, I came to the conclusion I wouldn't associate myself with any type of music or behavior associated with the influence of gangsta cRap music because I cannot relate to having to struggle or go through what they went through. I also think it's sad that many young men who have never had to struggle a day in their life emulate rap music as if they actually can relate to having to live that life. So many young brothers are trying to be something they're not . It is a lie to themselves and to who they really are, it's a cancer that eats away at their soul. I was watching on the news lastnight about a few young gentlemen who were caught up in the street life. As I listened to this one young man he said gangbangin' is all he knew as a child. He said he never had a father role model in his life. These young men day in and day out roam streets claiming neighborhoods on government property they don't own and are dying for a cause that is worth less than the quailty of food on the Mcdonald's dollar menu. It's sad to see my generation and the generation after me die.
