You're that close for real? That's like a 2 or 3 hour drive from here. But I'll sadly have to take a rain check though EC. I'll make a note though to keep two fully loaded web shooters on standby for our epic battle for another time!!

Well, it should be warmer than you're used to... certainly warmer than Chicago or London in the cold months. And check your PM box...

That word "battle" was more or less a misnomer or play on words, if you will, EC. I didn't say anything about fighting!

Getting back to the show, I gotta say man, this whole season has really been off!! I've been hearing them say on the TV guide channel that the ratings are down like 15% because people are dissatisfied with certain things, the viewers are saying the storyline was moving too slowly, Hiro was in Japan too long, etc. The one thing I HATED was how they never could seem to figure out what to do with Micah's father as a black male character, so they just kept getting him shot up. (It also would have been nice to have a successful show like this on television, with a black father as a part of an intact family unit in the household throughout the whole series.)
But how does the ONE character on the show with powers to render his body intangible and walk through solid matter, get shot up with bullets not once, not twice, but 3 damn times in the span of one season?!!

I agree with you on this... they didn't know what to do with a positive black male character? HELLO!! He's a hero... maybe they wanted to do something that would catapult some kind of storyline with Micah... DL was the second best good person on there... he wanted to do good from a Father's standpoint... I loved that... His whole motivation was his son... not saving the world... but making his son proud of him! What's more heroic than that? But the world we live in doesn't see things that way unfortunately, and that is reflected in their choice to kill off DL...
One thing about his power... he has to actually focus on becoming intangible... hence his being taken by surprise and getting shot those 3 times...

Church! I get what you're saying about him having to focus on his powers, but the WAY they killed him off was some bullsh*t too...they built him up as this character that could have used his powers for good in a "real world" kind of way, being a fireman, and then they snuff him out by not giving him a heroic death saving someone's life, but at the hand of some anonymous nobody bad guy. It's just kinda sloppy the way they left it like that. Part of good writing is telling a story that doesn't throw off your audience...unless your intent is to throw them off on purpose to set them up for a bigger payoff later on. But with this, it's like the writer's strike forced them to wrap up some storylines real quick and that's just one of the characters that suffered casualties. Maybe they'll have Hiro or Peter go back in time and alter those events some kind of way.
