It's the weirdest thing, I feel hardly anyone around me (I've mostly been to work so far, two different jobs.) cares that much.
This has deeply affected me and is BEYOND sad to me, to everyone around me, it seems almost meh!!
One of my jobs is a radio station for crying out loud and it almost seemed like business as usual in the office, although they have done a few tributes.
....I just don't get it!

People around my studio definitely care, Michael Jackson was arguably one of if not the most well known person on the planet. Some of my latino friends were talking to me today and they were talking about his issues. I told them they need to think about what they know for a fact about him. No matter who you are, where you are from and even what type of music you listen too.... You know Michael jackson and you have a favorite song of his from some era. I have listened to his music my entire life. This man has touched so many lives through his music and he deserves to be remembered for that. I might not have agreed with or understood some of things publicly known about him but I do know that his music is basically the soundtrack of my life.

I can listen to his songs from different era's and they make me think about what I was doing at the time it was released. "We are the world" was played at my brothers funeral 23 years ago and it still touches me to this day when I hear it. To say Michael Jackson was an icon or a legend is almost an understatement. I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me but this is how I feel so I had to say it.

He made close to an estimated billion in total record sales. No one else has done that (well that I know of). That's not counting all the other things he had a hand in...

He had his faults but I tend to think that certain aspects of that man make him a role model for all of us in some way. He's bigger to music and culture then Howard Hughes was to aviation and business.

And he could have been a head of state (no not literally). A concert in a not so friendly country by Michael Jjackson could could reduce tension.

He outshined the greatest game when he performed at the superbowl.

I still have the red & black 'Thriller' jackets from when I was a kid.

I thought this was just a rumor when I found out... I was on a flight and overheard a few passengers saying that they received emails with the news. One thing is for sure... he was definitely a music icon that will continue to be highly respected for his work. Randomly went to a memorial party at the 5th last night... and danced away to his hits..
