I'm wondering if he's going to throw his support behind Obama or Clitton.

If he gets on with Obama as a running make they'll win.

No..Edwards couldn't even help carry his home state with Kerry for the Dems in 2004.

Re: Edwards is dropping out of Pres race (?)

To be honest he's the only one of these politicians I've ever met personally and I trust.

I wrote him many years ago and he helped me to get my Military records corrected from a mistaken RE4 situation (unfit for duty) which allowed me to return and continue my career. I was still a resident of NC at the time.

He was surprisingly genuine, easy to reach, and his assistants followed up with me more than I thought to call him.

If he were in the race now I'd have to say that Obama wouldn't get my vote just becuase of that. He did for me in a few weeks what would take most many months or years to do (Medical board hearings, etc...).

But thats only becuase of his personal dedication. He seems very family oriented too which makes honesty and loyalty to his word easy to believe.

That home state stuff is a load of crap as well. He was a represenative of NC that was born in SC. Many people that leave SC don't seem to identify with it after a period of time. If you have ever been to SC/NC you would notice a night & day difference between the two in culture and developement.

Re: Edwards is dropping out of Pres race (?)

Who says they don't pay taxes?
All due respect to your grandfather but until he joins Itfactor what does he matter in this conversation? He certainly doesn't hold weight with me.

Opening the borders for legal work is a good thing. Not doing so is what is costing us money and it is increasing crime which is the reason for what i'm doing right now.

A lot of these people are legalizing themselves by stealing identities and paying taxes under the assumed identies. They lead normal lives and have kids here which makes them hard to deport.

They are here for a better life. And I think that anyone that has ever seen a Brazillian shanty town or a Mexican slum would understand. I would do the exact same thing. Not to mention that they are doing the jobs you wouldn't do which is a basic need.

They should have the same amount of freedom to work and roam this continent as in Europe. The US is a major cause of the poverty a lot of Central, South Americans and Mexicans feel and have.

Also, the IRS and Immigration do not talk to each other at all. If your identity is stolen and they pay taxes the IRS won't do anything to help you and you don't have the right to change your SSN. Nor will they share that information with immigration, other Federal, or any state authorities.

Also, many cannot get jobs and resort to joining gangs as a way of survivial. Violent as it is, it is still a better option for them then where they came from.

Lastly, a great many are born in slums and have no state issued birth certificates. Which means they could never get a visa. Did you know this? Why wouldn't they want to escape that? Wouldn't you?

And seeing as they just want a better life why not give them a legal chance to do that instead keeping them in a constant catch 22. If mexicans were white it wouldn't be an issue to open the border. Not even black folks like yourself would complain.

Uncle... I said my uncle...

Become an American citizen or get a legal permit to work & then I'll welcome you with open arms. Sneak across & don't pay taxes... Take yo ass home... Period...

And yes... I've seen and been in a Brazilian Favela & a Mexican slum...

We have to take care of our country first before we can worry about anyone elses...
