Re: my website

Hosting at godaddy shouldn't be more then 20-30.00 per month. Those guys are taking advantage of you. I have two self-managed dedicated servers co-located in california and I pay much less then 385.00 per month for two server class rack mounted 64 bit Dell Poweredge servers. My overhead is hella low.

If you have issue then hit me up. 385 a month is sily becuase your probably sharing 1 server with 15-25 other users.

I guess that's how they make their money like any other company that is trying to sell their product like AT&T

But one thing that people always confuse on management, management gets paid by the artists. So really the artist/talent has to pay the manager. A manager is not required to pay for their artist/talent. A lot of people feel that way or think that is the case but it is quite the opposite.

You have to waive your option, invest in yourself pay 300 per month or pay $1500 for your own site but have the potential of making 10 x the money back by merchandising.

I just don't see anybody investing in a model that is not known, there are too many females out there and it would be to volatile for an investor. Its easy to take picture of a pretty female with a body, then an artist that can sing.

Re: my website

Agencies and mangers do it all the time for models with strong talent.
Most models aren't known. It's only the Glam girls that have a name anywhere.

And if you sign with an mainstream agency they will want to control what images are put online. They have a direct interest in protecting and preserving their talent's image.

Re: my website

^^^True. I was thinking of places like Elite who invest in their models.

But I guess that doesn't exist in glamor modeling...

Well I should clear something up. Strong talent may get investment. Even Elite sends us models to shoot but they don't pay for those shoots. The talent (models do)...

Unless they have set up a test powershoot specifically to see how strong they are. Like say they'll send 10-15 models to us for a 1 look shoot. We'll shoot about 10-20 shots per model and the Agents will use that to see if they want to sign the models or not.

From that point on its up to the models to increase their portfolio unless the agency has booked them for a gig.

These days Agencies have begun to charge talent to be listed on their websites. A lot of folks have the roles and agencies and management mixed up. Agents and managers work for you and therefore will charge for any services they render including some promo of you.

global sports is a joke, they have the right idea, but have no clue about the market of the internet. They have vida, vida is a self seller, vida could sell and do the same numbers or more on myspace. percentage wise they are like a bad record deal, and a over hyped company. If they manage athletes, why would you reach out on myspace to "models" that have no proven market sales? makes no sense. I have a copy of one of their agreements, and by the time the model actually makes any money...she probably won't.

their trafficing sucks ass
http://alexa.com/data/details/traffi...fordonline.com

m.ford ranked at 1.5 million?

Amber Fox is is 500K
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/tr...oreverafox.com

Naughty Neshelle is at 300K
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/tr...tyneshelle.com

so, M.ford, huge urban name, huge Global marketing company, can't even push raw traffic to her site?? Stop it.

what you'll find online is there are very FEW people that have an understanding of what's what.

As far as server fees, you can get a server for $25. a month for a small portfolio site, doesn't cost that much. When you add a store and message board etc, then you'll need more. I only pay $200 a month and I got 5 sites on the server.

^^^

TK who's your host. I've got a two dedicateds with RAID1, a private switch, and tape backups for 320.00. But I built and manage mine myself. Don't need any type of support

I'm with layered.

She wouldn't need to upgfrade if she installed a board. she's only need to do that if she started hosting video or went over bandwidth which I doubt she'll do in the first year.

keep it cheap.
