Hey crew,
So i finally decided to man up and take a step towards acting like a grown man (at the age of 26 i'm still highly immature). I officially proposed to my girlfriend and much to my relief she actually did say yes!
This happened a few months back, we went away for a long (dirty) weekend to try and refresh ourselves and also to celebrate my birthday at the time. By this stage i had actually had the ring for nearly 5 months but couldn't figure out the best way to go about it. Anyways on the last night there we decided to go out to the nicest local restaurant to have a little sophistication and romance in our celebration, when my missus got in the car i told her i forgot my wallet so i ran back to the room to do some setup work.
I had managed to smuggle a box of rose petals (red, pink and a little orange) up on the journey that i managed to form into the shape of a love heart on the bed. The weekend before we left i had gone through and created a story book fillled with photo's of her and of us giving a quick run through of our lives together and of all the things that i truly thought of her and felt for her and on the last page was a photo of me holding the ring with the words "My heart is bursting with excitement, waiting eagerly for you to turn around".
When i got back to the car she was eyeing me suspiciously because sadly it took me a little while to properly organise it and even though i suck at remembering where i place things she knows that anything longer then 5 minutes for me to find something is very odd.
We had a very lovely dinner and she eventually did ask me what i was doing in the room when she was in the car, being a man of course i just denied and denied and denied and stuck to my original alibi but i knew i wasn't really fooling her.
We had a very lovely dinner though and i was very excited because the mood of the meal and the restaurant was perfect for what was to come!
When we got back i opened the door and led her into our apartment we had for the weekend but i left the lights off. I got her to stand in front of the bed and she was thoroughly surprised to see everything when i turned the lights on. She was expecting somethin' freaky on the bed, not something romantic haha.
After the shock wore off she picked up the book and started flicking through and i crept up slowly behind her and pulled the ring out my back pocket, when she reached the last page she gasped and turned around and i was on my knee.
The woman was so excited and overjoyed she rushed me and went to hug me while i was still down on my knee which meant she grabbed me in a head lock and damn near broke my neck forcing my heads backwards!
So yeah anyways, she seemed happy and she did actually say yes to the actual question. So our plans for the moment are that we are doing some travels this year to Japan and New Zealand, we will have a house by the end of the year and then we will start making the plans and preps for the actual wedding.
