IMAN has done mags like Vogue etc so when she said she loved what we were doing and she came on board, it was like an absolute honor and I thought to myself based on what I know is about to come and whats in front of me, when will any good Urban model, good Urban Photog and just talented ethnic people in general get a chance to really come together and do something and make a difference? to me it was like combining both worlds, in a small way but I felt it was a start. I realize how difficult it is for "talented" afrocentric, curvy models of color to progress; on a broader scope, they do not fit the standard body frame for the runway and most major fashion publications. The neglect of models of color has been an issue for years, but we have broken some barriers by emphasizing multi-ethnicity. I decided to personally select some of the top urban models who remain dedicated to their craft and created a bridge they can hopefully utilize to cross over into the more mainstream Fashion arena where more opportunities of greater exposure reside.
Lets get it!! you know me, once I get in we all get in, for me its all about working together, by the way Tre one of your image is in this issue as well. We did a book review on a girl that hired you for a shoot and she used one of those pics...nice shot and I gave you love

indeed.
the runway is changing though, the aspects of what happens on the "high fashion" scene is far too pretentious to ever truly change quickly, its been around too long with too many talons in too many people for that to happen (everyone remembers when they wanted to see fat models on the stage and when it happened everyone suddenly shut the **** up). changing the game simply isnt what I see an an answer moreso than truly creating a completely different game with its own rules and ways of being...but it STILL has to be a top notch game.
i had a lot more to say but it's pointless because people are going to see what they want to see anyway.
congrats on 2 years.

Black people have become somewhat racist within themselves to a certain degree; it pisses me off to hear from a black person "she's pretty to be a dark skinned girl". As if dark skinned girls aren't pretty. BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL IN EVERY WAY!!!!!! - tatiana23

Re: J'ADORE ANNIVERSARY ISSUE COVERS! "we bridged the gap"
Good Work! I like to see some consistency and quality work! I get tired seeing these magazines come and go! But then it takes a certain type people to do this. Majority of urban mags (I don't consider Jadore really urban more like crossover) are too busy wanting to be celebs themselves. Heard that Black Men's Blassingame too busy trying f**k all the models, I heard the same about dude from Show. I don't know if Smooth is still in circulation.
Taneish strikes me more of a business minded person not blinded by all the hoopla that others are into. but I could be wrong!!!!
Keep it up. I copped my first magazine like a few weeks back and it was at Chevron in Sandy Springs!! not in the hood. hahaha

you are correct sir, def not blinded by the hoopla, I kinda like being behind the scenes in some sense, I naturally love taking pics though but that's about it. Thank you for the kind words on the Mag.

Re: J'ADORE ANNIVERSARY ISSUE COVERS! "we bridged the gap"
Where can I buy this new issue on-line?
I can't find it in Borders. I've been to two in the last week or so and they still have the issue w/ Keri Hilson on the cover.
