"Third Eye"
I try to think with my Third Eye
and not with my Third Leg
'cause all of life's hardships call for nothing but a level head.
I can't afford to think with anything but my own mind
since it's like we're here one day
and then gone the next because of Father Time.
Honorable is the one that can control himself whenever he's tested.
When adversity strikes is when our true colors are manifested.
Typically, everybody is fine when things are going well,
but can you handle the hard times that make you wanna yell?
This is when you find out who is who more than any other time.
I can't stand phonies who only come around when the sun seems to shine.
The Third Eye is blind when both ears are closed
to constructive criticism that comes from someone that wants you to grow.
It's a commonality for people to reject constructive criticism.
This normally pertains to how some youths deal with parental wisdom.
Pride can be so dangerous!
It can drastically mislead
any single one of us by causing us to think that help is what we don't need.
I try to think with my Third Eye
and not through somebody else's
'cause this world is cold.
It's like 40 degrees below celsius.
Most people don't make room for imperfection or mistakes.
They just say: "Too bad!" especially if they can't relate.
This world is characterized by hate.
Love has grown cold.
Naivete thinks that things are dramatically better than the days of old.
But we're a long way from equality!
For instance, U.S. presidents have always been white.
Racism is like the air in this country.
One can't help but feel its effects.
It's just that the sheets are now business suits!
It's typical for people to hide who they are on the inside.
Racial hatred is as alive as it has ever been.
If you feel otherwise then your Third Eye has to be blind
or just straight up biased, which makes sense
'cause some people don't know how it feels to be oppressed.
Some of us don't know how it feels to be victimized.
Some of us have no idea about how it feels to be hated and despised.
It’s so common for people to be indifferent to one another’s pain.
