What toughness is

Toughness is not about how loud a person talks
It’s not about who has the most tattoos
Instead, it’s primarily about the heart
Which why some people can’t help but lose

Many have the brains to be successful
But lack the heart needed to obtain a prize
Hence they are always either mad at or watching
The next man who has the hustle to upgrade and rise

12 inches is why some don’t see success
It is the distance between the brain and the heart
Some of us need to focus on using our brains for thinking
Instead of for providing pleasure for these snakes and sharks

I’m a fan of the single mom working the 9 to 5
She makes no excuses regarding the mistakes she’s made
Everybody messes up in their lifetime
It’s about getting up and going forward even if afraid

I admire the dad who sticks around too
That trifling baby momma must drive him crazy
He’s a real man for fathering that child
Even if the woman continues to be immature and lazy

There is a lot of toughness in our world
And it can easily be found in the neighborhoods of regular people
We all have examples of such in our families
Let’s thank God for these ones each and everyday
