"Grass Roots"

I’m ignoble and looked down upon by the proud and lofty
These have no time for people like me
To them I’m unlettered and sloppy

I have no time for them either
I take disrespect from nobody
Life is too short for taking somebody’s bull
God is the only person who gets my reverential fear

I’m not underneath anybody’s badge
Our Creator makes people who they are
Uniforms are made by human beings
Death overtakes the common man and the superstar

Know that I don’t eat caviar
Instead I prefer Macaroni and Cheese
Some of the best cheese comes in government boxes
Certain people on our earth know just what I’m talking about

I just can’t stand it when people forget where they came from
Always remember those who love you unconditionally
They are going to be there for you when the popularity subsides

Dirt can always be found on my hands
It is all because I will never abandon the concept of grass roots.
I’m on a life long mission to stay grounded
I love helping people get up
So that they can stand on their own two feet
