On the edge of giving up
looking down at failure
how did i get to this point
i honestly dont remember

was i pushed by those
whos only dream is to see me fall
or was i pushed here by myself
and there was no one else at all

See i hold myself to high standards
you could say i am my own worst critic
I beat myself up if I dont meet my expectations
i guess im a perfection addict

Gotta realize that nothing in life is perfect
that in order to succeed you have to fail
so instead of down i look up
and thru it all i will prevail

I am a fighter
and i havent even gotten my second wind
i take steps away from the edge
and begin another journey towards a better end

Thanks for responding. Glad you liked it. It's amazing how few people even read my poetry, let alone everyone else's. Maybe if I stuck a few photos of women in between lines it would get more attention.

guy, everything in life IS perfect...one works that hard in order to have the space to change your mind with all the grace your experience imparts you...in order to succeed you must stand relative to failiure.

god help us once you write with your wind back.

I feel ya....and I agree...these wasn't my feelings...just a poem I wrote. Although I'm sure many others could benefit from what we both had to say...
