Smile "Perfection is in the eye of the beholder"

"Perfection is in the eye of the beholder"

As you know right now in this industry it is very popular to have the ridiculous curves and lucious shape, but has it gone too far? I personally being a model have to constantly stay in the gym just to keep healthy. But the difference between alot of women is why do they do it exactly? Is it for fame? Personal pleasure? Or just to have the biggest butt or the biggest breast with the smallest waist.

When I say "Perfection" I mean personal perfection. No one is physically perfect right? But by what standards? I personally love my body even though my breasts can be more than a handful sometimes because I love sweats and white tees. But comfortable bras for me are scarce because I have a weird shape in that world. Meaning a smaller waist than alot of women with F's. Personally I would love a reduction at the end of the year FOR ME. Because Im my own beholder of my beauty. Ladies we spend so much time getting dolled up and when we go out sometimes we think when we dont get the attention that we feel we deserve as a beautiful woman we sometimes second guess ourselves. But the truth is beauty is beauty. It shines through from within. If you think insecure you will wear it on your face no matter how high you hold your head up. Men love variety, even though they gasp and "wow" at these women in these magazines and on runways they truly dont make that their type.

Dont get me wrong we are all grown here and we can fix what we want when it comes to our bodies. But how about doing it the natural way? My eating habits were like **** before I got on the master cleanse and really disciplined myself and my diet. I learned from that experience that if you truly care about your own image "being your own beholder of beauty" then you would know that getting a quick fix at a doctor or going under the knife period point blank is not healthy. There are many women in this industry that men gawk over that have done nothing more than got in the gym and turned their personal disappointments into personal perfections. It is very hardwork because at first I hated the gym. Im southern so you know what that means FOOD IS MY PASSION. But my selfworth and desire to model came first. Its all about priorities. Because at the end of the day do you want to be a grandmother with old saggy breasts and FDA STILL DOES NOT APPROVE BUTT IMPLANTS. If you notice they dont look natural and they start to sag a couple of months later if you dont keep them up.

The media makes it seem like you have to have these unreal bodies to be beautiful. Some of the most beautiful women to me in this industry are women like Jill Scott, Eryka Badu, Floetry and I love Monique. The reason I love them is because they are beautiful STRONG and very DRIVEN, MOTIVATED and overal SECURE women. Men love women who are secure. Being comfortable in your own skin is one of the most sexiest traits that a man can pine over when it comes to your personality. Now I dont mean being sadity or stuckup and thinking "im the ****". I mean being able to walk in any room, sit at any table, danec on any dance floor and never look up to compare and being able to compliment without having a need to judge. Those are all sexy things that have to do with positive self-worth.

Ive learned that in this world you have two types of people. People who judge and people who are too involved with their own life path to care to judge. We have too many things in each of our personal lives to care about how a dress fits on another woman or some of these questions:

Why she gotta hold her head up like that?
Why her toes scrunched up in her shoe?
Why one of her eyes bigger than the other?
Why she gotta be on the car like that?
Her breasts are too big!
Her head is too small!
Her bikini dont look right?!

I mean honestly when you look at these photos things have been changed/altered to look "unreal", and the day they start to let us women LOOK and rock our own PERSONA is the day that a pig can walk up and finance a car. We shouldnt let the media determine how we look and percieve our women these days. This is coming from personal experience that yes it is hurtful when people pick out the smallest details in a photo or a shoot that you yourself didnt happen to notice and if I wouldve it wouldve been fixed. But alot of times these shoots and magazines are done for personal enjoyment and just a nice hobby that we as women can look back on and say "I got my sexy on back then". Praise is something that I could live with or live without because Im comfortable with myself. I know I have my days I can look like a million bucks and then others I just want to chillout and wear sweats and a ponytail on top of my head.

The point is that at the end of the day why take these things so seriously? I know there are some models who need guidance and it is not our job to teach them but would it hurt? Changing your personal appearance for others to me is a semi cry for attention which may mean just a little positive reinforcement that they are beautiful regardless. I know stepping into this game you can expect criticism. But hasnt it gotten too far? So far that every black woman is running to get something done instead of taking that journey in life to better oneself by simply becoming more physically, mentally and emotionally stable and accomplished. We should put our foot down and demand that our women take these journeys if they truly feel that this is the direction we want to take. To see a natural glow and healthy demeanor would last way longer than a woman with a fake butt or breasts who will soon enough fall in line with every other woman who also thought to alter themselves would make them a true star.

Very good Summer, keep up the good work.

Re: "Perfection is in the eye of the beholder"

i'm glad you as a model said it instead of hearing how its about the dollar and "a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do" for cash, to get ahead, whatever.

i think beauty is also a journey. alot of us are not born with it, emotionally and physically. i feel liek when you finally get to where u need to be in terms of beauty you can take and give constructive criticism without being scorned or hateful. just like you should be able to take ppl saying stuff about u should also be able to tell someone about their look without trying to be hurtful...

lol in short, good topic!

Re: "Perfection is in the eye of the beholder"

Thank you so much for that insight. I totally agree with what you are saying. When I was younger I was a definite tomboy. I have 6 older brothers and sports ran our household. So when I jumped into the industry after high school I was amazed @ how they had fake hair, eyes, lashes, lips, boobs, nails, tanner, the depths of how makeup can change your entire appearance. I think that it entertains us to be able to see people change 360. I mean I know it suprised tha hell out of me lol

Re: "Perfection is in the eye of the beholder"

I think you mean 180 instead of 360? Sorry... that's the proofreader in me.
