how exactly do you make money in modeling

i see a lot of ethnic model websites and youtube videos and i wanted to know exactly how you guys make money.

i am friends with a lot of beautiful women with real nice shapes. I know they would be willing to pose for pictures and get exposure. But once do that and put there pics on the net how would i get paid ?

I'm still curious what you are getting paid for. Is it going to be some kind of "finder's fee"? Will you be their manager?

But I have to agree with San on this one... I've never met nor heard of an Urban Model that made a decent living off of modeling or became wealthy off of it by making 6 figures with a healthcare plan and 401k. The most I've heard of is 5 grand for a video and occasional stints in low budget movies. Hosting parties, television, and radio shows don't produce a lot of figures but does produce exposure... It's usually mainstream models/supermodels like Tyra Banks that make the real money and can parlay their success into a real career and other successful business ventures. It's funny because urban models, most of them anyway, have to work very hard to get "discovered" but most successful mainstream models that get signed to large modeling companies like Ford get discovered walking down the street... and they go on to make a ton of money...

Things do change however... so for all you "Urban" models, I'm not saying give it up and get a real job... perhaps in the future their will be more opportunities for urban models. maybe not in the immediate future, but eventually...

If you're content to making a little money here and there and hustling for all your money then continue working hard in the urban field but you should have something to fall back on... in other words, you should view urban modeling as a hobby or a side hustle(like stripping) and have a primary occupation that takes care of the important things like bills and healthcare. Or like San said stay in school and get an education...

buffie makes a 6 figure living, but if you notice she has structured her name to do so. No management, no agency, she does it all with assistants. She runs her own show. Chicks more times than not, have no game, no planning, no knowledge of how to make money. Usually dive off in front of cameras, and signing papers before they know anything, and will spend months and years of man hours trying to correct the mistakes they made entering the game.

Notice Esther is dropping a website now, which is 5 years late. Had she done that from jump, instead of listening to pop tent managers selling her hollywood dreams, she'd easily had been a 6 figure model. When you have your own money and business plan working, you're less likely to make mistakes, and live on your knees for the next hand out.

I respect angel and buffies hustle because they grind. They grind in the right directions. Every venture isn't gonna work, but at least you have the balls to put forth an effort. Winding up in hollywood is a shot in the dark, but in the meantime you can make some good money while you wait.

mags are used to promote media. janet jackson is in all the mags now, because she's pushing a cd. when she's done pushing it, you won't see her again, unless she does another movie, or it's time to push another cd. Urban models start off in mags, realize it's a dead end, then try to come back after their time is up, to try to promote something. That should be in place before you do any mag.

I wonder how Esther's website is doing. Buffie the Body is still making money and doing recession free calendar shoots, books, and party bookings.

Melyssa Ford is still showing everyone she's relevant and there are others that I've seen that show promise. I just haven't met that many that business savvy (hustlers) like ones I've named here. Not in glamor anyways.

I don't see any of the models making money. Sorry. Somebody says that Buffie makes 6 figures but that isn't much it is a good salary but for that type of exposure I think you should be able to make more. I guess you have to elaborate on 6 figures 100,000 or 999,999 there is a very big difference. Also that money spends very fast if you dont have a consistent cashflow. I have seen many think that a few 100,000 is being "rich" but it is all in the eye of the beholder. If you have a million in the bank that you don't have to touch because you are making money to take care of all your overhead and that money is only in your savings then you can be considered wealthy. Rich in my eyes is if you have several millions and it keeps circulating on a consistent basis.
