Cats get angry when you break biz to them, just because a chick floats your boat doesn't mean Halle Berry needs to get a day job. Alot of these cats gas chicks up like they can be the next hollywood *Star* when in actuality, none are in Spiderman 3, Xmen, Deja Vue etc. we are probably 3-5 years from seeing a urban chick in a Blockbuster, simply because low tier mags don't translate to acting careers well. I'm not even using the term "Urban Model" anymore, cause it gives people an excuse to be subpar.
When you want to be an actress, leading lady, u need face and tits, simply because thats the speaking end, and when you "act" you "act" from your "face" not your big ass. You pose in videos and hood mags with your ass. When have u ever seen meagan good do ass shots in any of these mags? exactly.
Don't mind these "fans" they make the the biz what it is from one side of the fence, but NOT the side that really matters.
As far as being a "go between" nah, i'm a photographer/editor of my own stuff, and if i see some one hot, like the girl i started this thread with, I ...ME..put her on..this is basically a "unknown" chick on a XXL cover with R.kelly, In King, on a CD cover, and getting money with PLAYBOY all by my hands, and will be out in 4 more mgas before years end including PLAYBOY again, so what does that tell you abou what i can do? This is why i get 25-50 applicants trying to work with me per day. Cause chicks now i'm a numbers guy. This "unknown" chick is getting paid shoots and a pay site chick every 2 weeks, while bigger name chicks are facing eviction, repo's and doing "favors" to survive..what's wrong with this picture??
As well, "staff" photogs for these low tier mags do about $500-$800 for 14 hours worth of shooting, they use cats that will accept that type of payment. I am a "staff" photog for the #1 selling Hip Hop Fiction "book" company on the shelf, "triple crown" #1 in front of "g-unit" books.
This fall when you walk into waldens, borders etc. stroll "out" the mag section into the "book" section and see my creds. and don't forget, TKM is on auto pilot clocking 6 figures a year alone without me leaving this seat.
fans with camera's amuse me, I guess he had to vent, which is cool, but it changes nothing as far as my flow, I'm shooitng chicks for novel covers and book deals, and he's talking about Chicks flying themselves in to be "in" a mag...2 diff levels.
ps. just got back in from chi kickin it with my cats from playboy, don't be shocked if you see my name creds on that brand this fall either..
